Predators – Even More Predating

26 Mar

It only took 23 years for the Predator franchise to do what James Cameron realized after the first Alien movie, add an S. If one of said monster is scary/good/terrifying/fun then many would just create a multiplying effect. Genius. If some how they could resurrect  Carl Weather character from the original this movie would be gold.

This movie may win an Oscar for most confusing casting though. I mean it’s an action movie so you’d naturally cast Topher Grace and Adrien Brody as two of the most dangerous killers on Earth. These two guys weight a hundred pounds combined, but naturally they are an equal match to a brutal alien race with lasers, that makes total sense.

But it looks like a pretty badass summer popcorn flick it all reality. Laurence Fishburne, a guy that actually could make me believe he has killed someone, will bring gravity to an otherwise young cast.  And Robert Rodriguez, who wrote this script shortly after the original sequel was made, clearly has an understanding of what makes the Predator films cool and fun to watch.

It’s also important to know that this isn’t in line with the Alien Predator series of movies, it’s really the third installment of the original films. The only reason that Rodriguez’  script wasn’t made back in 1994, when he wrote it, was because Predator 2 didn’t do very well at the box office.

I’m thinking that this might be a sleeper movie to rake in some serious cash this summer. Not like Iron Man 2 cash by any means, but they could pull off like a Cornell like run into the summer blockbuster race. Sorry I watched some of the NCAA tournament last night.  Anyway, get ya popcorn ready!
