Opening on 4,900 screens at 3,651 locations The Other Guys, the latest example of the meteoric fall of Will Ferrell’s hilariousness, raked in $35.6 million to knock off Inception’s three week run at number 1. I think Christopher Nolan’s mind heist will be just fine having grossed$227.7 million in 4 weeks at the box office, currently Inception ranks 6th among movies released in 2010.
It’s nice to see Ferrell bounce back though after last year’s epic fail Land of the Lost. But even if The Other Guys is on pace with other August summer comedy’s from years past and even filling the seats like Anchorman, there is just no way a comedy co-staring Mark “where are the bees?” Wahlberg is going to be in the same league as the Legend of Ron Burgundy. Scotchy-Scotch-Scotch there is goes down, down into my belly. Case closed.
